30 Teams are Entered for the Kensington Community Cup

The Adult Teams need money for their upcoming seasons, and coaches Jakeema Burton, Brianna Banks, and Jim Breslin, came up with a unique solution. On July 15th Kensington Soccer Club is hosting the Kensington Community Cup at Philly SuperSite from 12 PM - 8 PM. This tournament is a fundraiser for Adult Team registration. In an effort to remain true to our mission, we will be hosting a series of fundraisers to offset the $150 registration fees our players are faced with every year.

All former soccer athletes, and currently highly involved in not only the athletic calendar, but the development of our adult athletic programs, Jakeema, Bri, and Jim have worked tirelessly to bring the spirit of play to this fundraiser. After an intensive marketing and outreach effort, Jakeema secured sponsors like _______ , and the team recruited 30 Teams from Youth to Adult to compete. At this point there are 12 Men’s Teams; 8 Women’s Teams and 10 Youth (U8-U19) Teams. Some teams entered as groups of 5, and other individuals registered as free agents. The 150+ competitors come from different areas in the community, and some were invited to play by current KSC athletes.

In addition to honoring our mission to make soccer accessible and affordable for all, this event truly shows how we unite our community through this exhilirating sport. If you are interested in learning more about how to support this event, please email jakeema@kensingtonsoccer.org !
