KSC Receives Grant from TTN: Giving Circle

At Family Day on June 17th, there were a variety of attendees who encountered KSC at different stages in their own personal and professional journeys. Among the diverse group of guests dancing, playing soccer, browsing books, and mingling, were staff at the TTN: Giving Circle.

The staff from TTN Giving Circle had recently visited KSC programs and were elated to follow up. They were impressed by the quality of the recreation program that they visited, and were teeming with positive words about the KSC Community. They gained so much insight from their visit, upon their return at Family Day, they brought us something.

The TTN: Giving Circle awarded Kensington Soccer Club funding for our early childhood initiatives. Kensington Soccer Club was one of four incredible organizations that won Giving Circle Grants. Speaking to Development Directors Barbara and Kathy, this was a monumental year not only for us as a recipient, but also for the TTN: Giving Circle. In their ten years of funding community organizations, this was the first year they raised over $124,000 for community-based initiatives. This was not the only first: Kensington Soccer Club was the first Sports Based Youth Development Organization that was funded.

Kensington Soccer Club made the final rounds this time not only because our work with youth ages 3 and up, but also because of our initiatives to empower women in leadership. TTN is an organization that supports organizations that serve women and children. Our initiatives to empower women and girls through executive leadership opportunities, civic engagement opportunities, and employment at all areas of soccer showed that we use soccer as a vehicle to address other social issues.

We are truly grateful for this recognition of the work we are doing on the field and in the office, and look forward to embracing the TTN Community.
