Afterschool success

After piloting in two afterschool programs in 2016, Kensington Soccer Club coordinated afterschool programs in over a dozen sites around Kensington and North Philadelphia this Spring, thanks in part to an ongoing donation drive.

At least 225 kids from first to eighth grade met two or three times a week to receive instruction in basic soccer, play games, and be mentored by our adult and teen coaches. Many of the sites were taught using the U.S. Soccer Foundations proven Soccer for Success curriculum, which incorporates health and wellness and mentorship into soccer games.

Our largest program, at Frances E. Willard K-4 Elementary School, featured over 45 enthusiastic kids.
